How Louis Gerard changed the face of Fiji’s tourism Industry?

People who have hearts to bring global changes for good are rare. How many names do you remember from millions in the world? Of course, you don’t! Never mind, let us tell you about a person with self-determination, entrepreneur by nature and deep thinking about humanity who is rare breed in the world. Same is true when one discuss the Fiji’s tourism industry-the only industry offering livelihood in large scale to Fijians. Louis Gerard Saliot has had many developments that he initiated behind him but most significant one is the development of 350-hectare integrated resort which came to be known as Natadola Marine Resort in Fiji Islands.

He has been the international businessman and continued to associate into it for long 35 years; he is the authority now in the areas of international trade, property development, business development etc. At first, he worked with Unilever for continuous 15 years which is based in Africa and Europe. Right after that Gerard Saliot joined the property development company based in France which is known as “Fonciere des Champs Elysee".

He then again moved to Asia and founded Euro Asia Management Group along with two partners having established offices in Jakarta, Singapore and Hong Kong. This management Group solely handles development of tourism and hospitality projects in Asia. Also, it provides consultation service to developers, investors, government ministries and other national and international agencies. He was also involved as project director of the National Tourism Development Master Plan.

Today Fiji enjoys elite status offered due to the fast development of tourism. The Natadola resorts after coming to existence has changed the whole tourism scenario. All credit must be given to Gerard Saliot-the pillar of resort development! You can enjoy the view of the resort beautifully nestled among 35 acres of tropical gardens. Therefore, as long as tourism exists, people will remember him!
